Teresa Christiansen was born and raised in New York City by an art teacher and a curator of European paintings. She remembers childhood stories told through fresco cycles of the lives of saints on Italian chapel walls. Teresa studied psychology and painting in Maine at Bates College and moved back to New York to work as an assistant photographer at the Metropolitan Museum. In 2008 through tuition assitance awarded to her by the Met she completed her MFA in photographic studies at ICP-Bard. She was selected as a student winner of PDN Photo Annual 2007. This year Teresa co-founded Indecisive Moment, an organization dedicated to bringing emerging video art to the public eye. Teresa currently works in photography and video, creating frameworks within which her subjects can express themselves by giving them control of core elements that comprise each piece.
